Inward of Eden started as a studio project of vocalist and Morristown, Tennessee native Dusty Owen, and was fully formed in 2014. They recorded their debut album with Mike D and Grammy nominated producer Travis Wyrick at Lakeside studios in Knoxville, TN. Since then, they have played with many national acts including 10 Years, RedJumpsuit Apparatus, Sevendust, Trapt, Hot Action Cop, The Veer Union, and Smile Empty Soul. Blending the grit of 90s alt-rock, Inward of Eden brings raw emotion, layered production, and faith-rooted honesty to the forefront. ”This project started out as a Christian rock project, but didn't turn out that way once the record was complete. My inspiration for the record came from the world I was watching around me.
My faith still comes out in many of the songs as it is still one of the most important parts of my life. The name originated from the verse 2 Corinthians 4:16 Where it states our true strength comes from the inward man that can be renewed vs an aging body. Inward in the name refers to the heart and eden refers to original intent. It’s my creative way of saying ’I want to do good, be selfless and have a heart of God (Inward of Eden)’. Influences for IOE go back to the 90's rock I grew up listening to like Silverchair, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Alice in Chains, and Incubus. I took those influences and molded them into a heavier sound that was similar to Daughtry, Shinedown, and 10 years which was more early 2000s rock.” -Dusty describes. Now, Inward of Eden present their songs ”Consequence is a Glitch” and ”Slow Burn.”
