t Must Be Nice” is an unapologetic raw Ska tune in the signature style that The Chains
have been perfecting, featuring Lady Kay McCaney, of New York band The
Doomstompers, on lead vocals.
The song is an everyday, street level view of the hardships that many go through all over
the world. For some, even small expenses can mean that they lose everything, and the
rising inequality is felt everywhere.
With a run time of just 2 minutes and 21 seconds, it’s a white knuckle ride of raw and
powerful singing by Lady Kay, with a tight band holding nothing back, the organ and the
fuzz guitar trading licks, on a 2 Tone inspired, one drop Ska beat, glued together by the
vocal harmonies that is integral to the sound of The Chains.
