Acclaimed producer Brian Kennedy — known for his work with Rihanna, Chris Brown, and Jennifer Hudson — has officially partnered with songwriter and artist Michael Gilas on a bold, boundary-defying new album set for release in Fall 2025. The project is powered by a diverse creative team. Allan Phillips, a visionary producer and arranger, collaborated closely with Gilas on the majority of the album’s tracks, shaping its sonic identity and bringing its arrangements to life. On the songwriting side, Gilas worked alongside Nashville hitmaker Bill DiLuigi, his longtime co-writer, to craft stories that balance raw honesty with universal resonance. Kennedy later added his production touch, lending polish and perspective from years at the top of the R&B/pop world.
The album’s lead single, “You and Me and Miami,” reflects this collaboration clearly. The song began with Gilas’ title, melody, and concept, developed in partnership with DiLuigi. Phillips played a key role in the musical development and production, building the track’s dynamic groove and lush arrangement. Kennedy contributed additional production as the track reached its final form. “Michael brings a rawness and unpredictability that’s electric,” says Kennedy. “Working with Allan and Bill, we were able to elevate that energy into something unique.” Gilas adds: “It’s like mixing fire and ice. Each of us brought something different — my vision, Bill’s songwriting craft, Allan’s production brilliance, and Brian’s polish. Together, we built more than a song; we built a world.”
