Owen Smith - Desert Blooming

Adrenaline and storytelling collide in Country/Rockabilly artist Owen Smith. Born in Tamworth and raised in the Snowy Mountains, Owen is a Singer-Songwriter with a love for the Australian bush and a passion for crafting distinctively Australian experiences into song. Owen is a prolific songwriter who performs his original music across the regions in festivals, charity events, competitions, gigs and street performances. He has written with award-winning songwriters such as Carter & Carter, Lyn Bowtell, Lachlan Bryan, Kaitlyn Thomas and Allan Caswell. 

Owen is deeply involved in the Australian songwriting community where he is an active member of the Tamworth Songwriters Association and the Australian Bush Balladeers Association. Owen graduated from the CMAA Academy in 2024 making his radio debut with ‘Wild Wild Weather’ and charting with his single ‘That Old Hills Hoist’. In the last year he’s reached six continents, clocked up 5k+ radio spins and featured on Apple Music and ABC's Edge of Country. His debut EP, The Snowies, was produced by industry veteran Simon Johnson and is available to purchase on Owen’s website. 

It features an all star band including Brad Bergen, Liam Kennedy-Clark and Shane Nicholson. Owen is 2x Grand Finalist for the Australian National Busking Championships, and placed as finalist for the ASA Australian Song of the Year, CCMA New Songwriter of the Year, and the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards. He has performed at multiple festivals, including the Tamworth Country Music Festival where he was chosen as a top pick in The Northern Daily Leader’s guide.
