”Whiskey Drinkers” – ”The chorus came to me one day while I was at work, and I thought to myself, ’that’s a catchy melody, but I hate the words.’ I worked on several versions of the chorus because I did not want to write a song about whiskey drinking. However, nothing I wrote had the same bite to it. One day, I’m driving home from work, toiling over these lyrics in my mind when I swear I heard the universe tell me, ’Dude, it’s a drinking song, just write it.’ Once I gave in, the song kind of just came together. I wrote about a guy whose just kind of going through it. Life for the protagonist is getting to be too heavy, too demanding without any return. He’s just having a hard time and he’s like ’F*ck it! I’m going out. I need a break.’ Whiskey Drinkers basically is a call to drinking arms.”
