Brooke Seabrook - No City Lives In Me

“I wasn’t born in the country… I think it was born into me." "Everybody has a story, whether they think so or not, there is always something unique. That moment in time, when my heart is racing, my bones know it and you cannot settle till it's done. That unwavering need to reach for that pen, to speak a name, to share their story. That place, that feeling, a settling of the soul. The recognition in another’s eyes, in their words, that you have connected. That is why I write.” –

Brooke Seabrook Born in Ipswich, QLD, Australia, and raised in the suburb of Goodna, the youngest of 7 children, Brooke’s upbringing on a map would show she grew up inside the “city limits”, however it was surrounded by “old time” values, country music and a lot of noise!

From an early age, Brooke’s writing would be strongly influenced by the stories of her grandmother, Albertina, and a love for the “olden days”, along with the discovery of Paterson and Lawson. Brooke's love of singing and playing the music of Australian country artists such as John Williamson and Slim Dusty, and Kasey Chambers, who brought to life the magic of the country she loves, though not fully experienced, has contributed to the powerful yearning to write.

In November 2024, Brooke jumped whole heartedly into the more than capable industry arms of Rabbit Hole Recording studios, directed by the uniquely talented Brandon Dodd, and Australian Country music royalty, Kasey Chambers. With a volume of authentic quality lyrics, before Brooke knew it, the endeavour to record an EP blossomed into an album. Co-Produced by Brandon Dodd and the one and only Bill Chambers, Brooke’s music was taken to another level. “They played every song like it was their own, breathing a life into the stories that I could have only dreamed.”

3 Little Street, is the coming together of memories, of a life lived through dreams and coming to terms with “the grass not always being greener.” A young Girl’s vision of what she believed to be true of the world and what she found to be real.  A Woman’s realisation that the view from a child’s eyes, does not always encompass the magnitude of why people do the things they do.

A Mother’s love and loss, through music and storytelling and how it can unite the lonely, empower the lost and free the heart to feel what it needs to heal. 3 Little Street was where it all began and where I once thought it all ended. Where now I look back and understand we can take the good and the bad and turn them into something bigger than the story itself.”
