Gifty Ovire Ogene - God Alone

Gifty Ovire is a British-Nigerian contemporary Christian and gospel artist. Gifty’s music carries a clear and consistent message: the good news of Christ and His unfailing, unconditional love - not just within the walls of the church, but as a light in today’s morally challenged world. Inspired by gospel greats like Helen Baylor, Gifty’s musical journey began in the 1980s in Lagos, Nigeria. A pivotal moment came when her brother gave his life to Christ and invited her to church.

What began as curiosity quickly turned into a life-changing commitment to God. Soon after, she joined Love Family Church in Lagos, where she began leading worship - a role that honed her musical gifting and spiritual depth. After returning to London in 1991, Gifty joined Deliverance Ministries International (DMI), a ministry passionate about promoting gospel artists. With the DMI band, she toured the UK and performed internationally, gracing stages at the DMI Awards, GOSFEST International Festival, In:Fusion Music Festival (Ireland), and events in Holland, Italy, South Africa, and the United States. Now, Gifty presents two songs: ”God Alone” and ”Let It Rain”.

”God Alone” was birthed during a very difficult season in Gifty’s life, when she faced severe financial hardship and a court case while caring for two children under the age of three, a situation that miraculously resolved in the court case being dropped and her bank agreeing to payments she could afford - an experience which led her to reflect deeply on the nature of God and to worship Him more intimately.
