Johnny Modesto and the Nashville Parthanon presents his newest single, “My Gravel Driveway”, released on 23 June 2026.
In his own words on the song, “It is an extremely frustrating experience to have your gravel driveway washed out. This song is about trying to blame the rocks. Sadly the grumpy dude in the song, desperately trying to blame the gravel was me. I can assure you that being angry at rocks is a waste of time. They're just rocks!” Johnny Modesto spent his childhood rattling around the Central Valley towns of Turlock, Bakersfield and Modesto. Formerly known as Johnny Modest, he changed his name to Modesto when he took a shot at speedway motorcycle racing and later competition Barbecue. He refined his grilling skills working for a caterer cooking Tri-tips in the Santa Maria style. During this time as a journeyman musician, he played bass in various bands for weddings and took some music classes at the junior college.
