Dunia & Aram is a reggae soul project, with deep roots in ska, jazz, punk, and the OG rhythm of New York City. The group was founded by lifelong partners Dunia Best (vocals, ukelele, percussion, flute) and Aram Sinnreich (bass, guitar, percussion, production). Dunia & Aram’s first album “Bedfellows” was released by GMO Records in 2022. The single “It’s Never Easy, Si” has garnered tens of thousands of radio spins on hundreds of stations around the world, reaching #2 on the World Indie Music charts and #5 on the Bandwagon Network Radio charts in 2023. Their second album “Empire of Two,” released in 2026, was supported by a European tour, including two sets at the Freedom Sounds festival in Cologne, Germany. The album’s first single, a reggae version of Iggy Pop’s “The Passenger,” brought Dunia & Aram back together with producer Hans Nieswandt. In addition to their own recordings, Dunia & Aram have co-produced multiple music compilations, and have supported and collaborated with celebrated musicians across a range of styles and genres, including Ari-Up (lead singer of The Slits), post-punk legend Vivien Goldman, Grammy-nominated Malian griot Cheick Hamala Diabate, Grammy-winning producer Victor Rice, Tony-winner Trazana Beverley, and Grammy-winning songwriter David Ritz.
