With “Starlight,” Terri Green steps confidently into a space she has been building toward for years a seamless fusion of soul, disco, and dance that fully unites her two musical identities. The record traces back to a writing camp in Paris, where Terri first connected with producer Dino Sirius. The creative chemistry was immediate. However, during that session Terri had temporarily lost her voice and wasn’t able to perform at the level she expected of herself. The collaboration paused but the connection remained. It was in early 2025 that Terri knew what she wanted to do and what direction the next tune should take. She told Dino she needed something that bridged her yesterday and today a mix of soul, disco, and dance. Dino Sirius, whose production work has contributed to more than 13 million records sold worldwide and earned multiple Diamond, Platinum, and Gold certifications, adds refined international polish balancing electronic sophistication with musical depth. Dino delivered a sleek, synth-driven foundation with pulse and atmosphere. Terri immediately heard its potential, but she wanted the track grounded in live musicianship. She turned to Maryland-based bassist Brandon Lane, a standout in the DMV (Washington DC Maryland–Virginia) scene. Brandon’s retro-soul project with Maryland vocalist Celine has been steadily gaining attention for its rich, live-driven sound and authentic groove.
That foundation in classic soul phrasing and contemporary rhythm made him a natural fit for “Starlight.” Brandon’s bass performance brought warmth, weight, and unmistakable funk to the record anchoring its electronic elements in real musicianship and elevating it beyond nostalgia into something intentional and current. Terri still felt the song needed a lyrical tweak. While Todd Edgar Wright was heading to a local hardware store in Leesburg, Virginia, he had her sing the lines she was sure about and hum the ones she was unsure of. The song was then co-written with Todd Edgar Wright, the multi platinum songwriter and producer known for writing for global icon Céline Dion, Ferry Cortes, and even a Eurovision winner, as well as composing for major television platforms including HBO and other acclaimed series. Todd previously co-wrote the global dance hit “Blind Heart” for Cazzette featuring Terri B! (aka Terri Green), amassing over 65 million streams. Released through PRMD in Stockholm, the track reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart and became an international streaming favorite. His songwriting brings precision, structure, and emotional depth to “Starlight.” His perfectionist lyrical gift can also be heard on Terri’s blues and southern soul smash “Two Wrongs Don’t Make It Right” with Lorenzo Johnson. Together, the collaborators created a record that feels groove-driven, modern, and unmistakably soulful.
