No PROMISES Release Driving West Coast Country Rock Single “Midnight Rider” – Out March 23

Alt-country duo No PROMISES return with their new single “Midnight Rider,” a harmony-rich slice of West Coast country rock inspired by the timeless spirit of Fleetwood Mac and Linda Ronstadt. Built on a steady, driving groove and ringing guitars, Midnight Rider captures the restless energy of a late-night escape a tank full of gas, the cards on the table, and the hope that someone might ride beside you when the road stretches into the dark. The song’s soaring chorus “Just give me something to hold onto / Tell me I can depend on you” blends vulnerability with the exhilaration of taking a leap into the unknown. Produced by acclaimed Australian producer Matt Fell, the track balances warmth and punch, leaning into classic songwriting and organic instrumentation. Fell performs most of the instruments on the recording, creating a rich sonic foundation that lets the song breathe while keeping the momentum rolling. Driving the heartbeat of the track is the dynamic drumming of Josh Schuberth, whose powerful yet tasteful performance propels the song forward with a road-ready pulse. His groove adds lift and urgency to the track, locking in with the guitars to give Midnight Rider its undeniable sense of movement. The recording also features lead guitar from Eric Collier, whose melodic lines bring a bright, expressive edge to the arrangement. Janine Garvey’s expressive lead vocal performance moves between determination and longing, with Janine working together with son Chase Garvey, layering backing vocals that give the chorus its soaring harmonic lift. Vocals were recorded by Chris Gale at Scarlett Sound, capturing the immediacy and emotional connection at the heart of the song. With Midnight Rider, No PROMISES continue carving their own lane in the alt-country landscape blending classic West Coast influences with modern storytelling and unmistakable vocal chemistry.
