Living in Ireland since 2022, Lucinda was born and raised to Irish parents (Dad - Belmullet, Co Mayo and Mum - Bornacoola, Co Leitrim) in East London as part of a very Irish community. Growing up, she was immersed in and had a love for traditional Irish and country music (e.g. Philomena Begley, Big Tom etc), as well other types of music, including Rock/Grunge, House/Dance/Garage etc. Despite these varied influences, she has remained connected to the successful Irish and country artists of the time, including The Corrs, Mary Black, Frances Black and The Cranberries. In her younger years, Lucinda travelled the world and also lived in Dublin for two years, where she enjoyed the vibrant live music scene and dreamt of one day performing herself. Today, her taste remains eclectic, with a strong appreciation for '80s and '90s and Motown music, amongst others, making it difficult to pinpoint a single favourite genre or song. As a soprano, Lucinda's repertoire spans multiple genres, from church, gospel, and classical music to rock, pop, soul, folk, and country. In October 2024, she released her debut single, a ‘Country Medley’ cover of five classic songs.
The track received significant radio airplay across Ireland, reaching No. 2 on the Carlow FM charts and earning a nomination for ‘Song of the Year 2024’. It also consistently ranked in the Top 10 of the IrishRadio.org chart - an impressive milestone for a debut release from a new artist. Her subsequent releases of ‘Bright Blue Rose’ and ‘Caledonia’ were both voted ‘Song of the Week’ respectively by Tipp FM radio listeners, with ‘Cottage in the Country’ also being nominated. Her more recent releases include ‘I’ll Be There’ and currently ‘Queen of Hearts’. Lucinda's growing success has also led to an interview with Tommy Rosney on Highland Radio in Donegal, where he premiered three of her songs, including two previously unreleased tracks and also an interview with Paul & Gerry’s breakfast show on Midwest Radio. Whilst country music is a strong part of her musical identity, Lucinda is passionate about performing various genres, ensuring her music reaches and resonates with a broad audience.
