To kick off 2026 My Dark Fate is releasing there new song Frightened To The Core
It‘s a new year, and we’ve got big news to announce! To kick off 2026, we’re releasing our new song "Frightened To The Core". Metalheads, you are invited to listen to our upbeat song, this time a blend of groove metal und melodic-death-metal! The song "Frightened to the Core" was composed by Andreas Maierhofer, and the lyrics were written by Stefan Geir. With his lyrics debut for My Dark Fate, Stefan addresses the contemporary theme of fear-mongering within our society. The growls are alternated with Marina Su’s harmonies, which keep the song pulsating.
About the band:
The Austrian band My Dark Fate delivers a powerful take on modern groove metal, blending crushing seven-string riffs from Andreas Maierhofer with a dual vocal approach. Aggressive growls from guitarist Stefan Geir are balanced by melodic clean hooks from bassist Marina Su. The tight, driving rhythms delivered by Christian Federer keep the sound heavy. The band released their debut album, No Prophecy, in December 2022 (with former vocalist Brigitte).
In 2025, My Dark Fate underwent a reboot, with Marina (vocals, bass) and Stefan (vocals, guitar) officially joining the lineup. The metal ballad „Whiteout“ was released in November 2025. The project was originally founded 2020 by guitarist and main songwriter Andreas Maierhofer, best known for his work with the melodic death metal band Lost Dreams. With My Dark Fate, he continues to channel his decades of experience into a darker, heavier vision.
