Jimmy Bear - Memory Lane


Jimmy Bear is a seasoned singer-songwriter, guitarist, and live performance artist who has been captivating audiences since the age of 17. Known for his soulful country vocals, exceptional lead and rhythm guitar work, and dynamic stage presence, Jimmy has carved out a respected place in the Australian music industry. His talents have taken him from playing guitar on an Australian concert tour by American blues legend Bo Diddley - to supporting some of Australia’s most iconic bands including Noiseworks, Richard Clapton, Jenny Morris to name a few. Being signed to EMI Music Australia Jimmy got to meet Australian country music royalty Slim Dusty— with Slim then recording Jimmy’s poignant track “The Last Ride” on the gold album The King of Kalgoorlie (EMI).

A true musical storyteller across multiple genres, Jimmy co-wrote a fantastic children’s album about dinosaurs, nominated for an ARIA Award, with friend and eight-time Tamworth Golden Guitar winner Allan Caswell. This album entitled Glynn Nichols and the Funky Fossils was produced by Allan Caswell and released through ABC Children’s label and Sony Music Australia. Jimmy performs an impressive 150 shows a year as a solo act on the Sydney live circuit, earning a loyal fan base with his authenticity and passion. His 2023 single Silence and Dust—a heartfelt ballad that reached No. 1 on the Australian Country Thunder Top 30—showcases his depth as both a writer and performer.

As he continues to evolve, Jimmy Bear is currently working with some of the best musicians and producers in the business, including  Eddie Parise (founding member and bass player / songwriter with the 5 times ARIA Award winning band - Baby Animals), Eddie brings his production magic and superb bass playing skills to Jimmy’s heartfelt ballad “Memory Lane”. Jimmy and Eddie have a long personal history originating in their home state of WA when they first met playing in bands as teenagers. Steve James, who’s production credits are all blue-chip Australian artists including: Screaming Jets - their No 1 smash hit “Better”, Mental As Anything, and Cold Chisel to name a few. 

Steve James’s illustrious music production career began as a teenager in the UK in the 1960’s where he cut his teeth recording the London Philharmonic Orchestra before moving permanently to Australia. Sam Panetta – and incredible pianist and producer – Sam owns Production House Melodic Music in Melbourne and has produced 3 tracks for Jimmy Bear this year which will be included on the forthcoming album release. Sam’s credits include Kylie Minogue, Crowded House, and Kiss Chasey to name a few. With new music on the way in modern dance and pop Sam Panetta has been an integral part of Jimmy Bear’s development as a world class singer songwriter whose creative output as a songwriter knows no limits.
