Coppe Cantrell was born as Capucine Cantrell in Pasadena, CA, the sixth of eleven children in a mixed-race family. She grew up in a lively household that she fondly describes as "The Brady Bunch Times 2." A standout student at John Muir High School, she excelled as an honor student, volleyball player, and VP of her senior class. Despite pursuing college, Coppe put her studies on hold to raise her son, Niamyja, after becoming a young mother. Later, Coppe married Johnny "J" Jackson, a celebrated music producer known for his work with 2Pac and other major artists. Together, they founded KLOCK WORK Entertainment Corp, where Coppe managed operations and occasionally contributed to 2Pac records. However, tragedy struck when Johnny died suddenly while serving a short jail sentence, leaving Coppe devastated. In the wake of her husband’s death, Coppe returned to college, where a prophetic encounter reignited her faith.
A professor, who happened to be a prophet, foretold that she would become a singer known as "Coppe," a childhood nickname only her family used. Three months later, on July 1, 2009, Coppe experienced a miraculous awakening at 3 a.m. when God gifted her the ability to sing and write gospel music, marking the beginning of her music ministry. Under the name Coppe Cantrell, she released her debut album, God’s Project (Book I), captivating audiences with the single "Holy Groove." Her third album, The Breastplate of Righteousness, and her latest album The Helmet of Salvation. Coppe's music reflects her deep spiritual journey and commitment to spreading God’s message. In addition to her musical career, she is dedicated to inspiring others through her non-profit work, particularly supporting widows who have faced similar challenges. Her resilience, faith, and dedication to her craft have established her as a rising star in the gospel music industry, with a story that continues to inspire many.
