Roman Cheglov - North

Roman Cheglov is an Austria-based artist of Russian origin. ”I have been living in Austria more than 6 years now. I started to make music in my school times - I had a band where we played mostly grunge music written by ourselves. I also played some concerts during university times but then started to work, had a family, children... But I continued to play and compose music at home. I was born in 1980. I started to make professional records only last year. And these two songs, ’North’ and ’Your Love’, are the result of it. I wrote both music and the lyrics, and I recorded them with session musicians in Vienna, Austria.”

”I composed ’North’ around 8 years ago. It's a song about the past and the good times you want to return to, but can't. And it is also very tricky to live in the past. So lets not lose the time even if your past days were better, don't pass by new opportunities, experiences and people. The original name of the song was ’Past’, but I felt it was too dramatic and named it ’North’ - after the name of the guitar I played when I composed it. This guitar has a very special sound. In fact I recorded it in the song as the main acoustic guitar. You will also find the photo of the guitar on the cover.”
