Jacob Kyles - All For Giving

I was born in September 1978 in Memphis, TN, and spent my early years in Frazier. By the age of 7 or 8, I moved to Hohenwald, TN, because my father, Ronnie Scaife, was a writer, artist, and session musician. He was the lead member of the band Shylo, known for songs like "Old Man River," which were later recorded by artists such as Reba McEntire. Most music labels were bought out and relocated to Nashville, which is where we followed.

During my childhood, I had the incredible opportunity to ride along with B.B. King on the road with my dad for a couple of weeks. My father's influence was instrumental in fostering my passion for music. Initially, country music didn't interest me, but everything changed when I landed my first writing deal with Cal 4 Entertainment, a small publishing company on Music Row. There, I worked as a songwriter and in artist development alongside my brother, Cody Scaife.

We performed at common writer's venues like the Bluebird Café for major labels around town. I also collaborated closely with my cousin, Joe Scaife, who produced well-known acts such as Billy Ray Cyrus and Gretchen Wilson. I played lead guitar and sang for the Winchester Fletcher Project, a band we created that performed at hundreds of mid-sized venues across the Southeast.

However, as my brother's project began to gain traction, I decided to step back. I got married, had a child, and took some time away from music. Recently, I felt it was the right time to begin writing again and share my own style with the world. My dad always kept up with the times and taught me to recognize when something is right or wrong. I believe that great music is intertwined with experience and hardship, which resonates across multiple generations.
